My day job is Linux/UNIX sys admin, but I do code a bit on the sides, though it isn't much. Mostly video encoding related... But I wouldn't classify myself as a 'real' codemonkey :)

Yeah, there seem to be lots of mascots in the UNIX world. For example, there's Beastie, the BSD UNIX mascot. There's Wilbert, the mascot of the GIMP program. There's Konqi (which I find very cute) and his wife of the KDE desktop environment, etc
