Regular Users Posting Blogs

in Site Mechanics, Design and Development

Me and Joker had an Idea: Who thinks that regular users should be able to make a blog on their own Kickass profile? I just don’t think that it is fair that only the super users, verified uploaders and mods are able to post blogs. So I’m going to make a poll to see what the community thinks, do you guys think that regular users should be allowed or do you think they shouldn’t, vote in the poll and make a comment if you feel like it. Here is a link to the forum post and poll if you want to vote. - http://www.kat.ph/community/show/16339/

the admin...aka The Wizards... do all the coding and whatever else is involved in their own program for this site of theirs and i can tell you from my limited "insiders" view of what they have to do, making something like what your idea is, may be harder than it seems.
plus, the rep abuse that will happen just to get to that next level will really suck.
however, IF it happens, i think this way would be the best way.
OR.....
just become a super and have your own unlimited one....lol

also this is a torrent site... not a blog site, if you want one that bad then you can go to a dedicated blog site and link to it from here, just my thoughts.

well instead of simply clicking the - on my post you could take some effort in defending your idea and give me a reason to support it like tell me what you can post more in a blog then into your status message or what makes you value a blog so much
-
we can just talk about it like mature people it's not like i am against you just because i don't like this idea though tongue
so as a friend tell me why i should support this smile

Dude; take it easy, no one is forcing you to support this. There is no need to fly into a fit of raging self-defence. We both stated rational and logical points that displayed our views and opinions, and I don't see the reason for your snark comment; "we can just talk about it like mature people..." Last time I checked we were talking about this like mature people, or did I lose the plot somewhere? If you made this comment simply because your previous comment was rated down, then you have a severe inferiority complex that needs to be sorted out. The reason that the '-' button is there is so that people can rate what they think about the comment, simple as that, not because they want to 'have a go' at you or anything, it is simply that they did not feel the need to write a long-winded comment about why they disagree with you. Please sort out your ideas on human social interaction and then maybe once you have rationalised your thinking we shall speak again.

well the person hitting the - button before was you and as you are the creator of this idea i simply ask you why not tell me what a blog means more to you then a status message... nothing more nothing less and again you take the time to hit the - button and leave lengthy post but still not answer my question
-
i just ask it to help you and i said we could talk like mature people because i was kind of expecting this from the way you post in the thread and if you read my post again you will see i am far off from raging about anything i just ask you a simple question and you react to that by trying to insult me which made me give up on any chance of a normal discussion about this matter
-
so i will say good luck with your idea hope it works out for ya

Thank you for the good wishes on my idea, they are much appreciated. The reason that I did not try to justify my idea to you is because I you had already blatantly stated that you were against my idea, that is why I didn't bother with it. And as to the reason why I am making lengthily comments combating your's, is because I will not let some random person act like he knows me and knows what I am on about. Yes it was me who pushed the '-' button, I never said it wasn't me. In my previous statement though I was just pointing out the general reason for the existence of that button. The reason why I pressed that button was because I didn't like the comment. And no-one is being immature here, we are having a logical mature debate. Immature would be: "i dnt care wat u have 2 say m8, go suck a c*ck coz u r just a lil b*tch" - that would be immature, hence this is not. And just so that you don't get angry or in case you don't understand, I am going to dislike your comment, the reason for it is just that; I don't like it. Simple.

i asked it before and i will ask it again what can you post in a blog that you can't post in your status message or in a thread ? you can even make a whole new community right now in which everyone could make their own blog
-
do the benefits beat the downsides ? think of all the abuse and the extra work moderators will have reading through all the blogs to check them
-
if it would work like zirakuta says i would say maybe but if you can put my arguments down i will admit it is a good idea but until then i say it is better to leave it as it is
