And I was just jumping on the Belfort bandwagon. :( Personally I think it's a bad decision. I know why they are doing it, I just think it's the wrong decision for the sport, especially when you need it for legit reasons and not just because you want to get bigger and stronger.
Okay just finished 170. It was a pretty decent card. I can't really complain about any of the fights, they were all really good, at least on the main card, I didn't see the prelims.
And I am a Herb Dean fan and the poor guy couldn't win for losing. lol.
Don't do that to me, Pringlescan9652 . I am not a neophyte when it comes to MMA or the UFC. I am not "booing" just because I don't see "action" I can appreciate a good technical fight. (Nog-Couture UFC 102, Jung-Porier..one of the UFC on Fuel fights) I have already said my piece about Machida and why I don't consider him a good fighter, as well versed as he may be in his "Machida style" karate.
I don't mind a dissenting opinion, just don't try and belittle me in doing so.
Yeah I didn't comment on the last fight because usually when I do, I kill the convo. lol. And yeah, not to pile on the Machida hate wagon, but you know how I feel about his fighting "style". :D
I am just downloading UFC 170 now, so we'll see.
Since I'm doing it I don't want any issues regarding points. Aside from that I'd do it a million times over and not enter if people enjoy it. That alone is enough.
I think you should join in. You are a MMA fan and should be IN it, and not just running it. Especially since there is really nothing involved except some fun. Plus I'd really like to have a chance at whooping you in this "game".
Lyoto Machida vs. Gegard Mousasi (Machida is going to do his usual chicken $h!+ hit and run, I mean "Machida Karate" style and win this with a decision. Mousasi isn't going to wrestle him at all, this will be a striking match. Mousasi subbed Mark Hunt and KO'd Souza, but against a runner like Machida, he isn't going to be nearly aggressive enough. I SO want to be wrong on this one. I really want Machida to die from a heart attack from all that running away. )
Ronaldo Souza vs. Francis Carmont (3 fights in the last year, kimura, triangle, punches vs decision, decision, decision. Sub 1st round.)
Erick Silva vs. Takenori Sato (This one is ending in a sub. I'll go with the underdog on this one. Round 3.)
Viscardi Andrade vs. Nicholas Musoke (I remember Musoke subbing Sakara in a UFC event in England. But I will go with experience here and choose KO round 1.)
Thiago Tavares vs. Zubair Tuhugov (why is this a main card bout? I am sure I could get two homeless guys who would put on a better fight than this on a main card. Going with the new guy vs the bust. Decision.)
Charles Oliveira vs. Andy Ogle (Decision)
Cristiano Marcello vs. Joe Proctor (Decision)
Rodrigo Damm vs. Ivan Jorge (Decision)
Francisco Trinaldo vs. Jesse Ronson (Sub, round 2)
Iuri Alcantara vs. Wilson Reis (KO, Round 1)
Felipe Arantes vs. Maximo Blanco (How can you go against someone named Maximo Blanco? lol. Decision.)
Ildemar Alcantara vs. Albert Tumenov (KO, round 1)
Link to the next card as for some reason I am unable to find it. Grrrrr.
I can and will. Hell he spent more time looking at the ref than paying attention. All his shots were hitting his hands, arms or shoulder. They need to be consistent with the stoppages. Travis Browne was getting legitimately hit in the head by Overeem and it wasn't stopped. Lesner was getting hit in the face over and over by Carwin and they didn't stop it.
The main difference in those fights was that till those points, it was an ACTUAL fight. In the Faber-Barao fight, it was one sided from jump. At no point did you think that he was in the fight or had a chance to do something different. I don't think a "thumbs up" and holding on to a leg constitutes a fighter doing something.
I agree with you about the fighter looking up at Dean. It was presumptuous especially when most of the shots weren't doing that much damage.
Could the fight have gone on? Probably. But was it really a major "screw job"? In my humble opinion, I don't think so. Nothing to that point showed that the fighter was going to do something different, and I think most people agreed that if he had a shot, it was going to be early, first round early, and if the fight went on, he was going to lose, so I don't think the stoppage did anything but not prolong the inevitable.
The Mir/Overeem fight was a lot better than I thought it was going to be. When he got rocked in the first round with that knee, I thought he was out. But he fought back. Again, I will reiterate, I was entertained by the entire card. :)
Oh hell no, Pringles! You can't call what he was doing any type of legitimate defense. lol.
I thought it was a good night all around. My favourite part was the interview after the Varner-Trujillo fight. That man was just honest and funny. I enjoyed it, and I enjoyed the card.
Looking for Disney Princesses Royal Horse Show PC game, please. I am sorry I didn't see a Game Request thread.
