I am starting university in 2 months and I might need a laptop for working on cs assignments. So I am wondering what kind of laptop I should get based on your own experiences.

It should weigh less than 5 pounds, and here is my preffered specs:

13 inch screen (any kind svga/wxga/etc)
atleast 1gb ddr ram
cpu that is > 2 GHz speed (preferrebly AMD)
hard drive any size
overall small size

It's need to fit in my backpack, which has 5-6 other textbooks.

Search Newegg and Tiger Direct starting with Lowest Price first, and move up until You find what'll fit You needs. Avoid the "Cheap" Acer models, (The keys fall off the keyboard) and All HPs that Aren't refurbished, unless You Won't Need Your laptop the first six months. Otherwise You'll end up Crazy as Me fighting with HP Non-Support. Once You find something You like, you can check the price against Best-Buy and WalMart, etc. Start Here:
