Got 2 PS3's
![]() First one is about 4 years old(?), second one is coming up for 2/3. Never had any problems, no reason to call Sony...good job too because their UK Help Centre is unhelpful & generally poo. I've been PS exclusive since they arrived & it all comes down to the controller for me. I think XBox may be easier to get "dodgy" games on but if you're doing that, your warranty might be worth nothing anyway? I get most of my games "second hand" but still sealed off Amazon. I hear the online MP gaming community is a bit better on XBox but seeing as I never MP, it's never been an issue for me... phew... sorry... My vote? Playstation 3 ![]() It all comes down to personal preference in the end.Personally I'd say go with PS3,in my opinion it has the better exclusives apart from Forza which totally beats Gran Turismo and it's a all in one media machine.Sure XBOX has a better online service(which you have to pay for) but that's only because it's more lively than PSN(which is free),and I don't see how people complain about PSN being crap because it works just fine for me.Also XBOX came out a year before PS3 so obviously it has a wider variety of games to choose from, but lately SONY seems to have been putting in some real hard work and have developed 2 or 3 awesome looking exclusives and I think they finally starting to catch up! Don't take note of people arguing over which console has more RAM,or a better GPU and all that crap because you're not buying a PC are you? The games, online service and extra features are all that really matter. In the end no matter which console you choose you're going to get a great piece of gaming equipment that's well worth the price....If you do take a PS3 add me:Rizo_17
The Xbox and PS3 have their own advantages when it comes to disc drives. The Xbox has a significantly higher DVD read speed than the PS3. Comparing the Xbox's DVD read speed to the PS3's Blu-ray read speed, the Xbox maxes out at 15.85 MBps on a single-layer disc while the PS3's maximum is 9 MBps. However, the difference in speed is reduced when the Xbox reads dual-layer discs.
While the PS3's disc drive runs somewhat slower than the Xbox's, it does offer the significantly higher storage capacity that comes with Blu-ray. Current PS3 discs have 25 GB to offer, and a new dual layer format is in the works that may increase this number to 33.4 GB. For most gamers, this storage boost will be far more important than read speed. Winner: PlayStation 3 Last edited by sum1_here17644, 9 months ago this is helpful. I wanna console with the best game collection/selection. singleplayer. since I don't do much of LAN or Area Network or multiplayer game stuff. so which is your best bet opinion on a console? soloist gamer Solo games mostly i would direct you to the PS3. Online superiority i would go 360. To the original post: It's been about 6 years since these consoles have released. Most of the kinks have been fixed by now, so to speak. Surely there is still the possiblity for hardware issues, but i would venture they are mostly fixed/adjusted by now. Speaking of hardware failure, i have gone through 4 PS2's after it's release. And 2 Xbox360's since it has released. I went Microsoft after my Sony debacle. The way i look at it i am still 2 Microsoft failures ahead of Sony's PS2's I switched for dependability alone. Sure i can't play MGS, but Tekken went crossover, so i win. Last edited by ValkyrOdin921, 9 months ago |
