ive ben watching alot of anime got a few terrabytes on my hardrive and im currently looking for new shows, so feel free to post the show(s) you liked the best as a recommendation for what im to watch next
id prefer a show with a storyline as im not much fan of series where the episodes is not realated to each other
if ive alredy seen the show il say what i though about it, if not il most likely watch it =)
hope someone give me a few i havent seen.
a few rules bellow
do not post:
-Movies
-shows with less than 6 episodes
-cartoons (you should be able to figure out the diffrence between a anime and cartoon)
-show created before year 1998 (i just cant take watching em, hehe)

Some of these may have been mentioned already. Sry but there are too many pages to read lol. Also if you have netflix they have a few of these shows and have really expanded their streaming anime section.
1. Rurouni Kenshin...I see you are getting/or already have it. Love this show! Kenshin is the man lol.
2. Full Metal Panic series...one of my new favs
3. Kenichi: The mightiest disciple
4. Air gear. the concept seemed dumb to me at first when I came across a random episode but I watched it from the beginning and I really liked it
5. Yuyu hakusho (I know u said no early ones but I thought the same thing but I didn't want to watch this show for the same reason. But I watched the first few episodes and yes the drawing is a bit inferior but the story drew me in. And somewhere, not sure how far in, the drawing is updated and is more like what you would see currently.)
6. My all time fav: Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood! I'm sure you may have seen the original but this is re-done to match the original storyline in the manga.
7. Blue Exorcist. just started this and I really like it. Has like 25 episodes. All on crackle if you wanted to view it first.
8. Samurai Champloo
9. Cowboy bebop
10. Witch Hunter Robin
11. Getbackers
12. Tenjho Tenge (english: Heaven and Earth)
13. Gundam Seed
Generally, I'm really into the shows with fighting, powers, supernatural abilities etc. Not sure what you like but give some a try if you haven't already. Or at least google them and see if it seems like your type of show.

Also Linebarrel (or Linebarrels of Iron). It's mech-based, which I'm not big on, but it's more focused on the characters. I enjoyed it.

Just remembered another one I liked that wasn't mentioned: Mezzo DSA and it also has a movie called Mezzo Forte.

My BF also recommends Wolf's Rain and S.Cry.Ed, which is a mecha type show.
