The old man and his wife

posted 12 Jul 2012, 17:23
The old man walked down the street
Smiling at everyone he would meet
His face was wrinkled he was very old
His bones would shake feelin the cold
He goes to the park were he takes a seat
This is were he an his wife would meet
The birds are singin high in the sky
A single tear rolls down from his eye
Time was cruel to him and his wife
He rembers the love he shared in his life
From husband to dad to grandad & great
He trully had found his real soul mate
She was a star that fell from the blueist sky
And he just never got the chance to say goodbye
Now all alone in this park he sits
With his broken heart his lifes in bits
What he would give for one last day
He needs to tell her he needs to say
I love you wife my heart is for you
He hears a wisper sayin i love you to
A smile spreads across his wrinkled face
He can now rest in his rightfull place
The gates are open hes walkin through
The angels are there they welcome you
And as you look behind the angels gate
You see behind there is your soul mate
At last your together for ever again
Under your breathe you say....Amen

Does that mean that there is now some old dead guy slumped over on the park bench? That's kind of gross...I wanted to eat my lunch there...

Great poem. Very sad, reminded me of a certain woman. She isn't in heaven, but is now on the other side of the world now.
It kind of makes me think about how the things that don't last forever are the most beautiful. If something lasted forever I think it would lose its meaningfullness.
