HIDTAposted 17 May 2012, 12:12![]() ![]() To qualify as a HIDTA an area must: Be a major center of illegal drug production, manufacturing, importation, or distribution; . Have state and local law enforcement agencies already engaged; . Have a harmful impact on other areas of the country; and . Require a significant increase in federal resources. . If you're in one of these areas then the crime rate is high as is the murder rate....Violence is commonplace. Meth labs and cocaine distribution are the primary enterprises. . Here's an interesting murder rate chart. Since the figure covers entire states it's not possible to attribute murders to the HIDTA regions, but it's a safe bet most murders are gang and drug related in the HIDTA zones. Washington DC is such a small HIDTA area that the murder rate pops out. . ![]() |

I live in Canada. I don't want to say more than that because if I start saying that our National average of drugs related murders is lower than the majority of the States in USA, I know I'll get bashed in and some dumb people will say that I'm rubbing it so I don't feel arguing with idiots and I'll just say: I am a Canadian. A French Canadian.
